But Daniel Radcliffe looked worlds away from his alter-ego as he left London's Noel Coward Theatre after his performance in The Cripple of Inishmaan on Thursday night.
Looking decidedly on edge as he emerged from the stage door, the 23-year-old actor's pale and gaunt appearance will have no doubt sparked concern among his legion of devoted fans.

Wearing a slim-fitting sky blue polo shirt, the former child star appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight, with his arms looking skinnier than ever as he headed to his waiting car.
Despite attempting to cover his face with a baseball cap, Daniel's pale and gaunt appearance was clear to see, while the young actor also had large bags under his eyes.
Not only was his drawn look a far cry from his days as Harry Potter - the movies which propelled him and fellow child stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson to worldwide super-stardom - but Daniel's appearance seemed to have deteriorated significantly even from February.

Posing on the red carpet at the Hollywood & Highland Centre, he looked the epitome of healthy and happy as he joined the great and good of the acting world for the 2013 Oscars.
The British actor has had a chequered history with drinking, previously revealing how he had to give up alcohol after becoming too reliant on booze and evening 'blacking out' on a number of occasions.
He told ShortList magazine last year: 'Seriously, in the last three years of drinking I blacked out nearly every time. Blacking out was my thing.

'The drinking was unhealthy and damaging to my body and my social life. That’s beyond question. I was living in constant fear of who I’d meet, what I might have said to them, what I might have done with them, so I’d stay in my apartment for days and drink alone.
'I was a recluse at 20. It was pathetic – it wasn’t me. I’m a fun, polite person and it turned me into a rude bore. For a long time people were saying to me, “We think you have a problem,” but in the end I had to come to the realisation myself.'
