A lift from daddy! Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage holds his little princess daughter Zelig up in the air  

Fatherhood is Peter Dinklage's best role to date. 

He vividly proved that fact as he held his baby daughter Zelig in the air during a pleasant Sunday stroll in New York.

The little girl giggled with glee as her father held on tight to her as they made their way around the Big Apple.

Earlier the acclaimed actor, who was also joined during the outing by his wife Erica Schmidt, was seen pushing her around in her pram.

The 43-year-old, who plays Tyrion Lannister in the acclaimed HBO series, has definitely acclimated to family life.

Peter bundled up Zelig well in a grey knit cardigan and pink cap with dangling sides that covered her head completely to her forehead.

The cute tot was also wrapped up in a pink padded wearable blanket that kept her warm and cosy on this chilly afternoon, which was in the 50-degree Fahrenheit range.   

As Zelig took in the sights along the busy street and adjoining park, Peter kept his eyes focused on the foot traffic ahead.

He peered through tinted metal-frame shades and kept his bare hands on the bar.

Obviously Peter's outing was appealing because he got to spend quality time with his only child as well as some vigorous walking exercise too.

The darkly bearded actor wore a navy knit cap and black and beige padded waistcoat over a long-sleeved black shirt, along with brown corduroy trousers.

And he wore comfy shoes for easy sprinting.

It's not often that Peter is seen out with his adorable daughter and in fact the last time the Emmy and Golden Globe winner was seen walking with her was in mid-March.

On that occasion, the actor was in a happy-go-lucky mood, whistling as he pushed Zelig in her cosy pram.

Peter, who is of German descent, was born in Morristown, New Jersey and currently lives in upstate New York with his wife of seven years, theatre director Erica Schmidt.

The talented star, however, has made no secret of his devotion to Erica, whom he likes to squire to glamorous industry events.

The couple quietly welcomed the birth of their daughter in 2011.

The actor who has starred in a string of films including Death At A Funeral described his role as father as 'incredible... life changing,' according to Us Weekly.

Peter is probably the most popular star on the HBO hit show that boasts family clashes, a legion of lords and ladies, enormous wolves and fire-breathing dragons.

In fact, after taking home both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role as the sharp-tongued Tyrion Lannister, his character's storyline was broadened for the second and third seasons.
